Kathmandu University (KU)(काठमाण्डौ विश्वविद्यालय) is associate degree freelance non-government, public establishment. it's the third oldest university in Kingdom of Nepal, settled in Dhulikhel, Kavrepalanchok District, regarding thirty metric linear unit east of capital of Nepal. Unq was established in 1991 with the catchword "Quality Education for Leadership". This university operates through its six faculties and from premises in Dhulikhel, Lalitpur and Bhaktapur.

The university provides collegian and postgraduate programs within the fields of engineering, science, management, arts, education,law and medical sciences. It provides collegian courses in engineering (civil,computer, electrical & physical science, mechanical and environmental), science (Biotechnology,environmental science, pharmacy, human biology & applied physics), management (Bachelors in Business Administration), arts (music, media, community development, fine art, and economics). Graduate courses in science, engineering, pharmacy, development and business administration are offered.

The university, in partnership with Rangjung Yeshe Institute, runs the Centre for Buddhist Studies. The centre offers collegian and graduate programs resulting in Bachelor of Arts and Master of Arts degrees in Buddhist Studies and chain of mountains languages. It provides analysis facilities for visiting international students of Buddhism for his or her graduate or postgraduate comes. within the summer, it hosts study-abroad programs and conducts intensive language immersion programs in Tibetan, Nepali, and Sanskrit.

The university owns capital of Nepal University highschool.

Except for the varsity of Education and faculty of Management, the faculties operate from the university's premises at Dhulikhel. Four batches of scholars have completed their MBA programs from the varsity of Management. the primary convocation of the university was continued seven August 1995 and therefore the convocation address was given by management guru, Dr. M.B. Atreya of India. The second convocation was continued eight Dec 1996 and therefore the convocation address was delivered by prof N. Gyanam, decision maker, Pondicherry University and therefore the President of Association of Indian Universities. The third convocation was continued nine Nov 1997 and therefore the convocation address was delivered by prof (Dr.) M. Rammohan Rao, director, Indian Institute of Management, Bangalore, India. The fourth convocation, continued seventeen September 1998, was addressed  by the outstanding scholar and ex-vice chancellor of Norwegian Institute of Technology, Norway. For the primary time in Kingdom of Nepal, capital of Nepal University convocated a batch of environmental, mechanical, electrical, physical science and engineering science and engineering graduates.

Kathmandu University control a Ceremony at the most field to mark the start of its year-long jubilee celebration.A jubilee Celebration Organizing Committee has been fashioned below the office of the Chancellor, Rt. Hon'ble Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli.

Rt. Hon'ble President Bidhya Devi Bhandari, United Nations agency graced the Ceremony because the Chief Guest, marked the inauguration of jubilee by unveiling the jubilee brand and inaugurated the freshly made buildings. Rt. Hon'ble Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli, the Chancellor of the University, chaired the Ceremony, and ordered the muse stone of the jubilee Tower.

The Inaugural Ceremony enclosed enlightening speeches of Hon'ble Minister for Education Giriraj Mani Pokhrel, Prof. Suresh dominion Sharma, the institution decision maker of Unq, Mr. Daman Nath Dhungana, Chairman of the Board of Trustees, and Prof. Dr. Ram Kantha Makaju Shrestha, decision maker.

Several cultural displays were continued the occasion in conjunction with plantation of plants of sort of species. notable personalities, heads of district offices in conjunction with native residents and Unq Family showed their gracious presence and participation within the ceremony.
